Sent coins - Unconfirmed - Help Retrieve my RDD

Hi

I have a new wallet 3.10.3
Wanted to transfer a large amount of rdd
I unclicked the: send as a zero-fee transaction box; just before sending
The transaction is Unconfirmed for 4hours now.

Reddcoin core folder is in Program Files

Please help me retrieve the RDD!!!

Hi there.

Don’t worry, your RDDs are safe.

I can help in 2 ways:

  • I give the instructions here, I will write out all the steps that you need to follow. This is the slower option.

  • I can do all the steps for you (and check if everything is working as it should, like a health check). I can do this via the internet, using a software called TeamViewer. That software will allow me to see your screen and do the steps for you. I understand if you’re uncomfortable with this option. This is the quicker option.

 

Let me know what you prefer.
If you prefer the first option, I will need to now which operating system you are using (Linux, macOS, Windows).
If you prefer the second option, we can arrange something on Telegram (if you use it), I’ll send you my contact details.

  • Make a backup of your wallet, via Reddcoin Core → File (menu) → Backup wallet.

 

  • Make sure Reddcoin Core is not running. Exit/close if it is.

 

  • Go the Reddcoin folder in C:/Program Files or in C:/Program Files (x86).
  • That folder should have a reddcoin-qt.exe file.
    Please check if you can find the file.

 

  • Right click on the .exe file and select ‘create shortcut’.

  • There should be a new file on the folder, the shortcut. Right click on the shortcut and select ‘Properties’.

  • In the properties screen, there is a ‘Target’ field. It should point to the location of the reddcoin-qt. The value is between " ".

    • Add a space and -zapwallettxes=1 behind the " ". So it will look something like this:
       
      "C:\...\...\reddcoin-qt.exe" -zapwallettxes=1

 

Run the shortcut by double clicking on it, or use enter. (Only need to do this once.)
Reddcoin Core will load.
Wait until it is fully loaded.
The transaction with the issue should be removed, and the RDDs should be back in your wallet.

 

  • You now can make the transaction again. When sending, do this (in the Send window):
  • Enter the receiving address and the amount.
  • Click on ‘Choose…’ at the bottom.
  • Select ‘Custom’.
  • Select ‘total at least’.
  • Set value of ‘total at least’: 1 RDD.
  • Uncheck ‘Send as zero-fee transaction’.
  • Make the transaction.

WIll you please check one thing before you start?

 

  • Open Reddcoin Core.

  • Go to Help (menu) → Debug window → Console.

  • In console, enter this:
    getchaintips

  • Wait a little bit… .
    A large text will be displayed on the screen.
    Scroll to the top, look for the first block of text.
    What is the value of ‘Status’?

    If possible, please add a screenshot or copypaste the text here.

when I try to make a short cut it say it cant make the shortcut in the Redcoin folder.
Instead sends the shortcut to the desktop.
Can I proceed with the steps with the shortcut on the desktop?

That’s what it should be! So you don’t need any extra instructions, continue with the one I’ve posted.

I followed the instructions.
Nothing happened. Funds are still missing. Shown in red that they are in Recent Transactions, while in the overview wallet menu.

OH FUCK. Now its missing and it says CONFIRMED!!!

And relax, you have a backup of your wallet.
In worst case, we can revert back to the original situation.

Ok… I checked the wallet where the coins were sent. They went over there. Lack of knowledge in trouble shooting may cause slight panic. I was non accusatory to you, I fudged it to begin with. :smiley:
