When will BIP66 with its strict rules enforced ?

Soon we’ll have 2 days of the Reddcoin wallet v2.0 “in the wild”.

about (1): how much percentage do we have so far?

(1) “It will take effect after 85% of the network (6120/7200 blocks) are generating v4 blocks (7200 blocks is equivilant to 5 days worth of blocks).”

Reddcoinnoob we are talking here about the point of time when reddcoin 2.0 clients will be able to stake blocks only (v1.4.x clients won’t stake then anymore)

Oh so the current wallet does not stake? My Wallet seems to show it will stake?

As a network update,

The network is at 46.7%
BIP66 is set at 85%

  • If you have v2.0 wallet, you don’t need to do anything, except to keep staking.
  • If you are staking using v1.4.1, after BIP66 becomes active your blocks (which are v3) will not be accepted by the network. Your stake reward will be lost (you are fine ok until then)

After BIP66 becomes active, you must upgrade to v2.0, or you will not receive your stake rewards

Checking stats tonight, we are now at 87.7% of the network generating v4 blocks.

BIP66 was set at 85%

Therefore BIP66 is NOW active

My script that was keeping track had an error which I have now fixed

erkan an effective notification system is needed.
I held off in this release, but will continue to investigate how to leverage the the existing alert system (there is one already)
