3 years and 11 weeks behind!! Synchronizing the wallet

Hi,

Please any advise how to synchronize the wallet with blockchain.
I don’t know where I will be after 3 years!!

Thanks!!

Just let it do its thing mate, it would take approximately 2 days, or download the sync files.

Ok, thanks… 2 years now

Dude download the blockchain from cryptochainer.com then you will come down to sync some weeks

It’s done. It took 1.5 days to sync.

I have some questions about the information that the wallet gives to you on the lower right corner:

  • Average weight
  • Total weight
  • Network weight

What’s the weight? Is it calculated regarding all the coins you have in the wallet? Is it always the same?
How can we take the best staking profit, we should move the coins?

In my opinion this needs to be fixed.

This is a huge issue in mass adoption for the platform.

I’ve been a fan of Reddcoin for a year or so now and from what I see were trying to appeal to the average man (or woman). With the wallet sync taking this long this is a huge set back. Stop thinking like engineers and put yourself in the shoes of Joe Schmo average 30 yr old male into football and beer. They’re not even going to get past the wallet sync time. Id even go as far along as to assume they may think they are putting a virus on their computer. Downloading the blockchain isn’t an acceptable option in my opinion for the average user either. People are dumb and simple now and more than half the time, if they cant even use something on their cellphones they wont use it.

I want a Dev attention to this and an answer. Is this something that could be fixed seamlessly? and if so when could we expect it to be?

cjhickey12 check out the new road map, everything you mentioned is getting looked at with also the release of reddid.

I just downloaded most of the blockchain via cryptochainer.com after that it took me maybe 20minutes  but I agree it need to be faster.

Stake on!

Please read here about how the sync issue is being addressed in the existing desktop/server core software - https://www.reddcointalk.org/topic/1187/reddcoin-core-2-1

Also the forthcoming mobile and browser wallets will operate via electrum server, so no need to d/l blockchain.
