Decentralised public proofs of social network identities

Reddshift I played around with BitMessage a little, while i was looking into OpenBazaar
BitMessage as a part of their communication network.

It is an interesting world we live in, and I get your points.
Food for thought.

Ok anyone who wants an invite can post their email here…
I am using a Mac and its all very easy to do, I do not have Facebook or Twitter but if you do it will make things easier for you. Make your life easy Write Down Your Pass Phrase and keep it safe.

Reddshift You are right that governments will like this way more than Bitcoin.

That is why I think the most players in Reddcoin the big holders will not make their wallets or substantial holding attached to a ReddID. That is very Clear! We already have a Pseudo privacy environment obtained trough the current system.

We all (should) know this (bitcoin) blockchain transactions are attached to an IP address. That is how FBI and Intepol got silkroad down. We can all be tracked by the same software… and device fingerprinting, majority of people forgot that governments invest heavy on counter-intelligent to maintain order and position.

Wild time will be here soon with socialX a no-privacy system is a very good start for acceptance. Remember that the media is against anonymity, drugs, wowow!! How will they combat against this open act? We will raise some eyebrows… wtf?!

Better is that the reddcoin system don’t obligate all users to go ReddID! So some of us can continue being pseudo-anonymous. A lot of people inside bitcoin community don’t understand that we maintain the old stuff and add a brilliant shinny layer. A system that allows both systems to work is equal to the current system. A nice story to understans how things work in banking system, It’s safe!

PS: remember that Our notes have serial numbers and if we really wanted to end with parallel economy we could obligate by law to scan it with a national data base to confirm it is legitimate. They don’t do that. The same thing goes to banks with banking secret… the world and governements want the system to work this way all along…

Just a fair thought and you have reason in your points too!

laudney So how will this work for end-users? When someone new to Reddcoin receives a tip on a social network for the first time what will they have to do to claim it?

Will this proofing technology store data directly on the Reddcoin blockchain?

GrayPhoenix for what I understand this way too geeky right now, but for the end user is a registration and a verification that will gather all his accounts into a unique key.

This way all accounts are verifiable and associated to the same private key… the user could associate his accounts to a reddcoin address. What Laudney talks about a is the unpleasant experience in this stage of development for simple users without programming skills.

Remember that is a close alpha testing phase with snow ball effect of invitations.

PS: I’m out from command line right now… reading is better

There isnt a way to verify a user based on facebook/google login apis? (I have no understanding of those systems, I just see them everywhere)

Proving someone owns the youtube or facebook account seems a snap if its possible.

I realize this would limit it to facebook and youtube if used (if its even possible) however those seem to be the two major places that tippers are going to be tipping at.

As a side note, go ahead and ignore that above. I think my main concern is its currently over my head and Im not understanding how a average user will respond. Hopefully its packaged in a way that is simple as hell. lol

If anyone has an invitation left, please invite me.

This certainly is the Holy Grail of social tipping. ChangeTip looks increasingly clunky in comparison. http://cointelegraph.com/news/113233/changetip-adding-facebook-and-slack

People wanting to join Keybase… I now have a few invitations.

reddibrek I’d love one

YouCanDoAnything I wonder if its possible to, I could look at it. And twitter as an api for that to. So does instagram i think.

iisurge please give me your email address

I have 8 invitations (2 left). If someone want a keybase account, please send me your email via chat.

I’ve got 4 invites. Let me know your email via PM if you’re interested!

I have Some invites too Feel free to ask for it! Leave a message with email too!

I have 4 invites, first come first serve on the first 4 to contact me through chat.

I have 3 invites. Please chat me here privately with email addy.

A few questions about this piece of Social X:

  1. Will Reddcoin use the Keybase protocol itself or is there a custom-made solution in the works?

  2. Will there be a need to visit Keybase.io (or a similar site) or will this technology be transparent to end users?

  3. Will it be necessary for users to link all of their social media identities to a Reddcoin address? Wouldn’t that be a privacy concern?

  4. How will potential users receive notification of a tip?

I understand if some or all of these questions can’t be answered at this point.
