I bought some REDD several years ago and sent it to a paper wallet address. I’m wanting to use it.
Do I need to sync the whole blockchain? How big is it?
Is there a workaround so that I can save on data? I’m limited by bandwidth.
I downloaded the wallet and it started syncing from the start. This won’t work for me…
For anyone wanting to do this, you need to bootstrap the sync:
To use the REDD on your paper wallet, you need to do the following:
You will need to import your private key in a real client wallet, the official Reddcoin desktop wallet can be downloaded from Reddcoin.com.
The coins stored on your Paper Wallet can be imported using the command “importprivkey [yourprivatekey]“ (without quotes and brackets) in the “Help” -> “Debug” -> “Console”.
I couldn’t figure out a way to avoid the large blockchain download…4 GB.
