Weekly Updates

Last Week

The big news has been that the new wallet have been put into the hands of a larger circle of testers. I appreciate the time and effort that they are putting into setting up and configuring and providing feed-back. Very much appreciated guys.

With this ongoing, I can free some of my time to attend to other activities that have been somewhat neglected in this last while.

New Wallet

This week saw the first “public” release of the new wallet. Officially it is still in closed beta with just a few extra users running the wallet. I am highly optimistic that we have a good release, but I intend to run this way for a while to try and shake out any pesky bugs.

Presently, the wallet is running on the testnet network

I have one node continuing to run on mainnet, and it averages about 1 stake per day.

While all this is ongoing, I am in also constant communication with those users for their feedback.

Documentation and Release notes

With the successful launch of the new wallet in beta, I have turned some of my attention to other necessary activities. One of them being the documentation and release notes for this version.

This is going to take a bit of beating to get into shape. Our version path is something like this

Bitcoin v0.8 => Litecoin v0.8 => Reddcoin 1.4.1 => Bitcoin v0.9 => Reddcoin v2.0.0

My goal here is to get these into shape by the time the next release candidate becomes available (1-2 weeks, but probably closer to 2 weeks)

Roadmap

It is my intention to provide more details on what lays ahead for Reddcoin in 2016. I don’t want to be overly ambitious and promise the world, but rather make good progress on achievable targets

At this point I have started to detail the infrastructure that we currently have and what components are required to power our “Social Currency” with the backbone to make this true.

There are a few factors in this, and broadly speaking an ID system on its own does naught.

The ID system must be complemented with an infrastructure to make its purpose useful. The infrastructure has to be able to take that ID and present to the world an interface that is simple and intuitive. In the context of Reddcoin, an interface that can take an ID, and present an interface that allows to tip a user on most social media sites (and beyond).

Additionally, I have been looking into different scenarios on how to make the network more self supporting.

But without getting ahead of myself, now that the wallet is up and running my time and energy can be directed toward the task of becoming the “Social Currency” and providing some direction for the task.

In Closing

It has been a busy week, but successful. I look forward to making progress this year, and keeping you updated as things move along.

Gnasher Thank you for your work and for information about Reddcoin project!

Reddcoin can be enticing to https://cldmine.com/?ref=22987 site

werdff That site is definitely a ponzi, I would be careful.

Impressive. Like devs that maintain reports. RDD shows a history of professionalism.

As an investor I say stick with the fundamentals for 2016, but have a greater vision that can be shared with the community.

fundamentals for 2016

  1. maintain wallet updates (basic stuff)
  2. exchanges
  3. work with other coin communities, invite them here
  4. network api data feeds - get it out on many reporting websites

well put.

set targets at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months.

and hit them!

bitnation I think we can set some realistic targets this year. My initial main focus for the end of last year was getting a wallet version out that can support us going forward. I am now working on the goals for this year
