Team Reddcoin Community Manager

Hello from Eric, Reddcoin Community Manager!

Hello Community!

As you may now, Team Reddcoin released a new v2.0 wallet during the summer and, a few days ago, announced the 2016-2017 Reddcoin Roadmap. These are major achievements for the Team and alongside these activities, time has been taken to clarify Team members and their roles. I, for instance, am Eric, and as stated in the roadmap, I am really happy to take on the role of Community Manager. Before diving into what kind of activities I can bring to the Social Currency through this role, I would like to present myself.

Curious and passionate about many things, I do not have a degree in IT nor am I a developer. The journey I took in education took me through chemistry, biotechnology and bioinformatics; I completed these studies and went on to work in the business and management field. I am now an IT Delivery Manager in an IT consulting company and even if I do not code, I love being around programmers. I appreciate the time they take to explain to me what they are doing and the time they take to understand why my role matters in their world. In my work I have found a place where I feel comfortable being an interface between business, management and engineering. That’s also the reason why I like to help entrepreneurs with their projects, while I also have my own in the works.

“But how did you land on Team Reddcoin then?”, I am a curious person and after reading many articles trying to simplify Bitcoin, I wanted to know more and I discovered that Bitcoin is only the tip of the iceberg. The general public does not know that there are so many cryptocurrencies. While looking over some of them, such as Ethereum, Dogecoin, etc., I found Reddcoin. The appeal of the Social Currency starts with the fact that you do not need any kind of specialized hardware to participate in network security. During my exploration of Bitcoin, I looked at the rigs (and their price) you needed to buy if you wanted to mine bitcoin efficiently. I realised that I was arriving late in that game! As I was looking for other projects to work on, Reddcoin looked to be the ideal candidate. No rig needed to “mine” (I learned quickly that you do not mine in Reddcoin, but stake), a new team ready to reinvigorate the project, and voilà !

I began by asking many questions that John was very kind in answering. I also offered my translation services, beginning with some articles for Stuart (reddheads.com) and then translations for the new wallet. When you are new in a world of advanced tech like cryptocurrency, translating can be difficult and I believe that a lot of French readers that are experts in the field might find my first translations amusing. There is more than just words to translate but also a spirit and meaning that can only be conveyed if you grasp the context.

I furthered my involvement with the Team, namely trying to present in a simple manner the concept of staking, which is difficult to do because of intricacies and advanced concepts not familiar to someone who does not understand cryptocurrencies. I plan to release this work and further infographics to explain the technology behind Reddcoin. Delivering such content is one of the tasks of a Community Manager - to facilitate the understanding of Reddcoin for the whole Community. If you would like to help me with this responsibility, I am available and open to suggestions.

Also, as a Delivery Manager for the day job, I manage teams using various approaches such as Agile, which have been moving into mainstream use for some years now. I think I can help the Team with these skills, in organisation and in ensuring delivery of the roadmap. I can help to rally Community support and I can also bring some business sense to Reddcoin when needed.

Reddcoin is an open project: the door is open to anyone who has the goodwill to offer support, even if you do not have advanced tech skills or knowledge about cryptos. As such, Team Reddcoin is always grateful to receive help of any kind: translations, UX/UI designs, brand and marketing expertise, and of course, coding.

I am really excited to be part of this amazing project, and look forward to helping the Community in any way I can.

Thanks!

Since Eric began helping out a few months ago with reddheads.com translations, he has always been quick to respond and determined in his efforts.

I don’t mean to write him a reference here  but I would just like to say we are really pleased to have you on the team Eric.

Let’s take Reddcoin places!

DeadPool I May be of assistance, in brainstroming and also how to make those into mining understand what makes reddcoin so unique, and more efficient. I see reddcoin as a long term invesement, its a a matter of time that mining becomes less and less new…I compare this to how we have upgraded mining… We started from our pc, then we made mining hardware (asic miners) then we had the doors open to asic mining so we have build gpu rigs, And now we have more coins making POS/POW /hybrids… then we have Reddcoin which made POSV, And no more mining
anyways DeadPool we can discuss more. i have discussed alot to Gnasher of furure projets i would like to either be apart of /create, or see it comne to existence. But my role is more into buisness, even thougth i am a entrepreneur, inventor, philosopher. I saw and have never embraced a coin before like i do with redd.
