Time for me to go

I have been a long time supporter of Reddcoin but unfortunately my faith has gone, not just in Reddcoin but crypto in general. I just don’t think people/developers have the time or willing to continue the project, Laudney has not been seen in well over a month possibly two, the github shows no activity for about 4 months. While there are other cool community projects being developed, they alone can not prop up a coin.

I wish the project all the best but it just seems like it has been left to be another coin people buy and sell 1 sat higher.

I have sold all my coins now and probably leaving crypto in general due to the unregulated manipulation of all coins, I honestly can’t see a future for crypto as the way the crypto world currently works.

Good luck and goodbye

I think I’m out too, at least for now. Have to say that Reddcoin was the coin that broke my heart. I was really electrified when I first read the White Paper, so many insights and yeah, humans are social animals so there is intrinsic value to a social coin. Lost a bit of money, but not too bad. Now mostly invested in NuBits and NuShares.

Damn. (post has to be longer, so “double damn”).

bye guys, good luck to you too!

Its been some days now and I was going to post about it as well but I thought nobody would care :stuck_out_tongue:

I was out about a week ago. Sold my 52 mil of Rdd and moved on to a different crypto. I moved to this new one because of great community and because they have a roadmap that they have been following for 2 months now. I am most interested being part of a team than investing and making money.

Anyway.

I am out because of devs responsiveness as well. Yes Laudney’s disappearance is not that great. Reddcoin still has a great potential but I don’t see it happening if no big changes take place in different aspects. I am glad that other coins are now considering PoSV.

As for what you, BrownSlaughter, said I think crypto is the future but not on its current state. It needs a lot of changes that will make them fool proof and ready for mass adoption. For example Redd-ID, lower wait on confirmations and simple secure wallets are some of the needed aspects for mass adoption. It will evolve and then completely take over in 10 to 15 years when its ready to and the economic system collapses. That’s not my prediction but that’s another story :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, since BrownSlaughter and iisurge are out of the game, and since I had one person play with a 100k RDD prize on the line who’s web browser crashed in the middle, I’m out too. The lack of communication between the devs and the rest of the community is disheartening. The run was fun, but unexpectedly sad. I was really looking forward to this coin actually doing something good. See you all on the flip side…

Following the same path, I have sold my 108mil RDD last night. Can’t take the risk, better pack my back and leave. RDD broke my heart but lucky enough that I still make profit. Good luck peeps

Took a few days away from the whole internet mostly because for this, hoping that when i came back things would be a little better.

I guess not.

I’m out too, of everything bitcoin related.

PS: My RasPi will keep staking my pretty much worthless 20MM because it has nothing better to do, and selling what i’ve been working for during the past 16 months for a bitcoin - if i’m lucky - feels kinda pointless. I’ll keep them, if only as a reminder that life is very short and time is too valuable to waste it like i’ve been doing for at least all 2015, as far as crypto is concerned.

I have a lot of reminders like that one.

Goodbye, it’s been a pleasure knowing you all.

Just to remind you guys… At this time last year Reddcoin was falling and on the brink of delisting from Cryptsy. Then a strong mid summer drove the price WAY up. I hope you guys have made the right choice. I will always follow this project as a holder or not.

And to be honest it was seeing people leaving that triggered me to buy then.

Back then there was a plan, active devs and a community, Sadly all these seem to have faded. I will still pop in now an again and see how the project is going. Like I said this was not just losing faith in Reddcoin, it was losing faith in the whole crypto world, if I still had faith in the crypto world Reddcoin would still be the coin I would like to stand behind.

Sad to see you guys go, For the most part you have contributed a lot to the community and is evident by your active participation and activity. I appreciate you being able to hang in there during the ups and downs.

Dont know you guys so well, but have read your posts as you have contributed (actually i read everyones posts almost daily, both here and reddit).

Involvement in Crypto is probably best summed up by Kenny Rogers “The Gambler”
We all have to make those life decisions as to where our time and money is best spent. I think anyone involved during 2013/2015 has found it to be a crazy ride and sometimes exceptionally difficult. There is no guarantee to anyone that at the end (will there be an end?) that we will be better off.

this is a little TL&DR
Just to share my mind a little, I was involved in the internet probably before before most of you.
Back then there was no WWW. Everything was telnet, ftp, gopher It was text based. i used a 14.4k dialup modem. My PC was a i386 with 4MB ram
When WWW kicked off, i thought wow, this is truly amazing.
I could see the potential, but lacked the skills to truly get involved.

I was later involved in computer gaming, back when Quake1test was released to the public as a teaser.
Boom, I got involved more. I ran a LAN Party for gaming on weekends with a few friends and we would have up to 80 odd people playing.
I ran a website, learnt some programming, ran promotions and become social
The project was done as a no profit, it was a great learning experience and I could see the potential for online gaming into the future.
However, I lacked the resources to carry it through… I look back on the at the scene now and am amazed how far it has come and sadly disappointed that I couldn’t carry that dream forward.

After first hearing about crypto, i sat silently and monitored, I could see the potential, but let it evolve. It was so left field.
2013 was my step in point, but Bitcoin was already kicking along and could see that the boat was just leaving.
Enter alt-coins.
Reddcoin was one of the first I identified as setting itself apart from others.
It wasnt just a coin to mine, but had a goal for usage in terms of adoption and usage.

I have only recently became a member of the Dev team, but I believe Reddcoin carries a potential beyond those existing tipping platforms that have already been developed. Some will scoff that there is no place or room for this.

I am in for the long term, and for me is a long term project which i am prepared to buy into…not only with cash, but also time and effort.
To put it in perspective, Bitcoin has taken 5 years to reach its current point… and did this with little support except the faith of those developing. It is only in this last 18months that more attention has been placed on it from the general public.

Like ReddcoinRocks, I will probably one of the very last to turn the lights off this project.

Gnasher Very well said. All crypto is absolutely a gamble, and if ReddCoin had already achieved everything it aims to do the price would already be 100x what it is now. I’m in it for the long haul, but I also haven’t invested more than I’m prepared to lose. I don’t plan on leaving anytime soon.

I feel I have to say something more than just goodbye to those who are leaving.
OK, laudney was last online about a month ago, but after all he has contributed to this project (his ideas and actual development) I think it is just fair to give him and also the other core devs a chance. This might sound naive to some of you but as a freelance developer myself I’m aware of the challenges teams face when they try to realize a project of this scale in part time.
I’m still waiting for feedback from the founding members and only the outcome of this can be a reason for me to make a decision if to leave or not. I’m patient and have nothing to loose and with nothing to loose I mean that it makes no difference to me to wait for some more days to get some reaction from the team.
by the way laudney released the first RC of PoSV not even a year ago and we all are expecting that it’s ready for mainstream!?

I’m sticking around. Still hoping Laudney will pop in like the Terminator, “I’m back bitches!”

I’ve been watching alts for a long time now, and when BTC starts mooning even the weakest alts get a bump. The reason I originally jumped into Redd was its strength/sat ratio is off the charts. I was buying last June and i’ll be buying more this June. I think If I recall correctly Vertcoin was an abandoned coin recently and now is seeing a revival for some reason. I have very low expectations for gains, which is good because they always get smashed.

I have messaged you the coin’s name. I didn’t want to share it publicly for ethical reasons.
