can someone help me?
Have no idea how to use this platform. I sent coins from old wallet to new wallet. Both 3.1.3. versions
What is Reddcoin-qt?

Please try to keep your posts together, posts them in 1 post.
Which operating system (Linux, macOS, Windows) are you using?
Windows operating system
Old and new wallet, are they both yours? So, are you sending from your own wallet to your own wallet?
If so, there is an easier way to move the RDD from one device to another without making a transaction.
Before I can give you instructions, things need to be made more clear. Please answer the questions above as detailed as possible.
I have two PCs im working with here. On one (my older one) i recently updated to the newest version. It seemed to work fine as i coild see my balance was there. On my second PC (new one) i created a new wallet with the newest version of the Reddcoin Core wallet v3.10.3. I tried to send a small amount from my old wallet to my new wallet first but had no luck possibly because my fee was to low. Then tried to send with .1 fee and it went through except never reached my new wallet
All right… I know what I need to know, but to help you as best as possible, one last question.
Will you be using the wallet only on 1 computer (the new computer), or will you use them on both computers (old + new).
Are you satisfied if you have your RDDs on the new computer, and do not care about the old computer…
Reason I am asking is that if you want to use Reddcoin Core on both computers, you need to make sure Reddcoin Core is configured correctly on both computers.
If you are only going to use on the new computer, the instructions will change to make sure you have the RDDs on your new computer (so, I won’t take Reddcoin Core on the old computer into account).
I would like to be able to send them between computers. two separate wallets.
All right… I will get back to you later today, with instructions on how to fix the wallet issues on both computers.
All right, two separate wallets sounds good. You can’t use one and same wallet on two computers, you need two separate wallets for that (different addresses in the wallet).
Okay.
Let’s focus on the old computer first.
On the old computer, you have created a transaction, with the transaction ID fd24ce085c6552c09e86aba0394fc01c932c6a393fd521e39174690bcfa846f2
.
What is the status of this transaction? Double click the transaction to see its details.
Is it confirmed, unconfirmed or something else?
4711 confirmations at 2/4/2021 at 19:06
Thank you for your help by the way!!
All right.
These are the steps that we will take on your old computer:
- Backup wallet,
- Delete existing blockchain data.
- Redownload the blockchain data (bootstrap).
- Let Reddcoin Core sync.
- The transaction you made will be removed and the amount restored to your balance.
- Make a new transaction, with correct fees.
Backup wallet
-
On your old computer, open Reddcoin Core, and make a backup of your wallet. Via Reddcoin Core → File (menu) → Backup wallet.
-
Exit/close Reddcoin Core after making a backup. Make sure it’s not running.
Delete existing blockchaing data
-
On your own computer, press the following keys:
Windows key
+R
.
This opens the ‘Run’ window.
In that Window, enter:
%AppData%
-
A new window opens, with folders. Search and open the
Reddcoin
folder.
This folder is your Reddcoin data folder. -
Delete the followign folders:
- blocks
- chainstate
-
Delete the following file:
- peers.dat
-
Leave this window open.
Bootstrap
-
Download the bootstrap file: https://download.reddcoin.com/bin/bootstrap/blockchain-Nov-26-2020.zip.
It’s a large file (4 GB, so it can take a while). -
After the download is finished, extract the zip file:
- To unzip all the contents of the zip file, press and right-click the file, select Extract All, and then follow the instructions (next, next, next).
-
After the file is extracted, you will see two folders:
blocks
andchainstate
. -
Move (cut/paste) these 2 folders to the other window that you left open (where you previously deleted folders and a file).
-
When all is working again, you can delete the large
blockchain-Nov-26-2020.zip
file.
Finish the syncing
-
Open Reddcoin Core. It will start syncing the rest of the blockchain (last 10 weeks).
Don’t touch Reddcoin Core, let it sync. -
The transaction you made earlier, should not be visible anymore in your transactions list. The amount should be back in your balance.
Redo the transaction
You now can make the transaction again. When sending, do this (in the Send window):
- Enter the receiving address and the amount.
- Click on ‘Choose…’ at the bottom.
- Select ‘Custom’.
- Select ‘total at least’.
- Set value of ‘total at least’: 1 RDD.
- Uncheck ‘Send as zero-fee transaction’.
- Make the transaction.
After a minute or so, the transaction should get confirmations.
The transaction should appear on the blockchain explorer; http://live.reddcoin.com/.
Go to that website, and enter the transaction ID.
If you can find the transaction, the transaction is successful.
Let me know how it goes.
After this, we will work on your new computer.
ok all is well up until syncing. it still syncing after 4 hrs still has 10 weeks behind and i can see my balance with my 1000rdd missing, also the transaction is no longer showing so thats good i guess? i will let this go overnight… the only step i did that was a little different was deleting peers.dat and when it came to this there were multiple peers.dat but many different variations so i deleted them all… will touch base tomorrow. If this works out nice tip coming your way
Please, next time, don’t just delete files… You might delete too much and not recover it.
Okay, syncing should not take that long.
Do the following:
- In Reddcoin Core, go to: → Help (menu) → Debug window → Peers.
- Make the Peers window wider.
- You are interested in the column ‘User Agent’. Make the column wider to see its contents.
- User Agent is “Reddcoin:3” = OK.
- User Agent is “Reddcoin:2” = not OK. Right click on it and ban it for a year.
- Do these steps for every Reddcoin:2 user agent that you see.
Check if this helps with speeding up the syncing.
Regarding those 1000 RDD, that might have been staking rewards.
In the summer of 2019, the Reddcoin development team released an updated Redd Paper. The Redd Paper (.pdf) describes the evolution of unique staking algorithm of Reddcoin and new aspects to be implemented. The staking algorithm - Proof of Stake Velocity (PoSV) - was to be succeeded by the improved PoSV v2. If more interested in PoSV v2, you can read the Redd Paper, and these two articles: [1] - [2].
PoSV v2, the improved version, got actived on July 21, 2020. From that moment on, the older versions of Reddcoin Core (v1.x, v2.x) would stop functioning fully: to make new transactions and stake successfully, Reddcoin Core v3.x was needed.
I would recommend waiting for a staking reward first, and then make a new transaction.
The way Reddcoin stake rewards are calculated are based on the amount of RDD and the time that they are in your wallet. You accumulate ‘coin age’ -> higher coin age means higher chance for a stake reward.
After a stake, the coin age gets reset. In your case, the coin age isn’t reset (at least) since July 2020, which means your coin age is high; which in turn means that you will receive a staking reward - including the period from July 2020 onwards. The amount will be higher than earlier rewards.
Ok… there are no user agents with “Reddcoin:2” only about 8 user agents with “Reddcoin:3”
That you for all the great resources. I may have a few extra questions with the staking once we get to the bottom of this. Thank you so much for your support.
I apologize do you mean “Reddcoin:3.10.2”?
If this is the case there are a few “Reddcoin:3.10.2”
